Sprint Waives Calls And SMS Fees To The Philippines From The US br>Our hearts go out to those who are affected, directly and indirectly, by the super typhoon Haiyan that had ravaged the Philippines. It is nice to know that companies and organizations have already mobilized themselves to help victims of the typhoon, and in a practical manner, the folks over at Sprint, too, have something to offer. In fact, Sprint has announced that they have waived all calling and text messaging fees made by its US customers to the Philippines.
This will go great lengths to assist people living in the US who happen to have friends as well as family in the Philippines whom they want to stay in contact with. The calls and texts are waived as of November 8th, and the duration of this “offer” will continue all the way to December 7th. Apart from that, those customers who had already been charged during this time period will be on the receiving end of a credit to their accounts with the relevant amount owed in the next billing cycle. Sprint is not alone in this SSD VPS effort though, as both Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile USA are also part of the effort to waive standard text messaging fees for any of its customers who happen to send a message to an organization in order to donate money toward disaster relief in the Philippines.
